Exit a Partition (EXIT)Source:IIEXITI I IObject: 2F 00 00 000 8 15 23 31This instruction detaches a partition if it was attached to a keyboard, closes allopen data sets, and executes a system unlock operation in case the partition waslocked when the exit instruction was issued (see op code 20). If the exit instructionis issued in a background partition, bit 1 of byte 1 of the partition lOB pointerin the system control block is turned on to make the partition available to be loaded.This bit must be on for the partition to be loaded by another partition. If the exitinstruction is issued in a foreground partition, a flag is set in the partition lOB (bit6 byte 2B) to indicate that the partition is available to be loaded; the bit in thepartition lOB pointer is not turned on, so keystrokes can be processed in theexited partition.184
