Write a Record to a Data Set (WRT)Source: WRT (dsn, [fmt] , [BR"]~ , [~J ' B)oI IObject: 30080 fJ II IID Bits:8910110= Sequential record access method. For a printer, bit 8 must be 0and bits 10-23 are ignored.1 = Relative record access method.o = Overlap mode.1 = Nonoverlap mode. Not used, always zero.0= I/O buffer is not blanked.1 = I/O buffer is blanked at the start of the operation (B is specified)if edit formatting is specified.fJ Data set number: The number (hex l-F) of the data set to be written.II Format number: The number (hex 01-FE) of the format to use. If noformat number is used, this will be a hex FF.II Record to write: The location of records to write can be:• BRn for the address of a binary register. If the data set is an SCS data set,the register contains the address of an area where SCS command charactersare stored. If the data set is not an SCS data set, the register contains therecord number.• Hex 07 (- specified) for writing the previous record.• Hex 08 (0 specified) for writing the current record. For a printer, it mustbe hex 08.• Hex 09 (+ specified) for writing the next record. This instruction writes the contents of the logical buffer into the specified recordposition of the physical buffer. The contents of the physical buffer may be writtento the diskette. If an edit format is specified, data is moved into the logicalbuffer as indicated by the edit format before it is written to the physical buffer. If this instruction is issued when the current record counter is at EOD, the recordis written into the EOD space and the EOD and current record counter are incremented;otherwise, the current record number is never changed by a writeinstruction.Object Code Instruction Format 185
