Chapter 4 - OperationUser InterfaceThe IM3004s provides a Windows XP based keyboard and mouse driven GraphicalUser Interface, known as the IM3004s Toolkit Control Console (Fig. 7), which the usercan use to setup and control the unit’s functions. The IM3004s Toolkit application willrun at start up. Chapter 4 - OperationAdvanced Drive Detect MenuThe IM3004s Advanced Drive Detect Menu will provide a list of the detected drivesand allows detected drives to be configured as active or inactive drives. The menuscreen will also allow drives connected in Target positions to be configured as SourceDrives. The menu is displayed by selecting the Drive Detection Tab from theAdvanced Interface Control Console. The descriptions of the available AdvancedDrive Detect Menu functions are discussed in the following section.Drive Selection PanelThe Drive Selection Panel provides the settings and functions used to detect drivesconnected to the unit’s dedicated Source and Target drive positions, including devicesconnected to the general purpose USB ports located on the back of the unit. The DriveSelect Panel allows the operator to select the drive position(s) to scan during a DriveDetect operation.Master 1 Drive SelectSelect the Master Check Box to select the drive in the “Source” position fordetection. The unit provides one dedicated and Write-Protected “Source” driveposition. The drive’s positions are referenced by the drive’s physical location on theunit. The “Source” position is located on the left side of the unit’s top chassis.Target 1-4 Drive SelectSelect the Target Check Box to select the drive(s) in the “Target” position(s) fordetection. The unit provides four dedicated “Target” drive positions. The drive’spositions are referenced by the drive’s physical location on the unit. The“Target 1-4” positions are located on the back of the unit’s top chassis.NOTE: The Drive Select menu provides a power indicator for each drive position.The indicator will be GREY prior to drive detection, GREEN if the drive isdetected or the operation passed, and RED if the drive is not detected or ifthe operation was not successful.25
