<strong>Tenaga</strong> <strong>Nasional</strong> <strong>Berhad</strong> 63 Annual Report 2009TNB together with Felda Palm Industries Sdn Bhd(FPI) and J-Power had formed a joint venturecompany, FTJ Biopower Sdn Bhd, to develop a10 MW Jengka Biomass Power Plant in Pahang.This plant will be included under the SmallRenewable Energy Power Programme (SREP)launched by the Government to promote theutilisation of renewable energy in powergeneration. This is in line with the Government’sFifth Fuel Policy which among others aimed atreducing emission of greenhouse gases.The Plant will utilise the empty fruit bunch (EFB)of oil palm as its major source of fuel to fire itsboiler. The EFB will be sourced from the sevenFELDA palm oil mills located within a 70 kmradius from the Jengka 9 Site. Procurement forthe Jengka Biomass Power Project EPC is inprogress and COD is targeted for December2011.The project is expected to apply for the CarbonEmission Reduction and sell it to appropriateparties at a market rate to be agreed betweenthe buyer and seller. The project is expected tocontribute the reduction of approximately 45,000tonne CO2 emission annually.EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVESService Excellence 2010 (SE 10/10)Generation Division continues with theimplementation of the following initiatives withinthe Service Excellence 10/10 (SE10/10)programme.a. Optimisation of true life-cycle costb. Development of human capital for globalgrowthc. Positioning REMACO for overseas businessd. Establish customer/stakeholder managementprogrammeOverall the targets set for these initiatives areconsistently met. This has helped to further propelthe Division towards achieving its objectives.Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)All power stations within the Generation Divisionhas embarked on the implementation of TotalProductive Maintenance (TPM). The Division fullyappreciates the benefits of TPM which combinedthe best features of productive and predictivemaintenance with innovative managementstrategies and total employee involvement. Withthe integration of production and maintenancefunctions, the goal of optimising equipmentreliability and ensuring the efficient managementof plants assets can be realised.
