Headache, blurred vision, convulsions or loss of consciousness, elevated blood pressureS-53- Treat secondary infection.• Give tetanus antitoxin 3 000 units IM to neutralize absorbed toxin.• Prevent further production of toxin:- Remove the cause of sepsis (e.g. remove infected tissue fromuterine cavity in a septic abortion);- Give benzyl penicillin 2 million units IV every 4 hours for 48hours, then give ampicillin 500 mg by mouth three times perday for 10 days.
