TÜRK MÜZECİLİĞİNDE YENİ DÖNEM

Türkiye genelinde 48 müze ve örenyerinin gişe işletim ve modernizasyonununTÜRSAB-MTM İş Ortaklığı’na devredilmesinin ardından Kültür ve Turizm BakanıErtuğrul Günay, sorularımızı yanıtladı. Birliğin, Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığıdışında, yasa ile kurulan tek örgütlenme olduğunu dile getiren Bakan Günay,“TÜRSAB ile aynı alanda çalışan iki kurumun, dayanışma içinde olması gerektiğibilinci ile hareket ediyoruz. Bakanlığınızın konuyla ilgili çalışmalarından bahsedebilir misiniz?ERTUĞRUL GÜNAY: 2008’den beri müzelerimizi, kültür varlıklarımızı ve örenyerlerimiziTürkiye’nin gündemi içine almaya gayret gösteriyoruz. Bu kapsamda,hizmet kalitesini de yükseltmemiz gerekiyordu. Gişe İşletim ve Modernizasyonuİhalesi öncesinde de, birkaç adım attık. Müzekart Projesi’ni uygulamaya soktuk.Bu proje, bizim insanımızın uygun fiyatlarla müzelerimizle tanışmasını sağladı.Ardından müze mağazalarıyla ilgili olarak, özel girişimci katılım için ihale açtık.Türkiye çapında, Avrupa standardında ürünlerimiz oluşmaya başladı ve müzemağazalarımız açıldı. Mr. Günay emphasized that the Association ofthe Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), having been established by law, is thesole organization in this field with a legal status besides the Ministry itself. Hesaid, “Therefore, we work in close cooperation with TÜRSAB, in the understandingthat two major institutions who operate in the same area should act incoordination and solidarity. The service sale contracts concluded between ourMinistry and TÜRSAB, concerning areas like museums’ ticket booths’ modernization,allow the Ministry to devote more time to its principal functions.”MÜZE DERGİ (MUSEUM JOURNAL): There has been a noticeable progressin recent years in the area of cultural tourism and the conceptual approach tomuseums. Would you please dwell upon the endeavours of your Ministryconcerning the subject matter?ERTUĞRUL GÜNAY: We are working on creating an increased publicawareness as to Turkey’s cultural heritage, its museums and historical sites,since 2008. In this context, we have seen it as a necessity to enhance theservice quality. We took a few steps even before dealing with the modernizationproject of the museum ticket booths. For instance, we introduced the ‘MuseumCard’ system which enabled our domestic customers to visit the museums at areduced rate, so that a greater number of Turkish citizens could be acquaintedwith the cultural heritage of their own country. Furthermore, we invited tendersfrom private investors concerning museum shops. As a result of this, a numberof museum shops were open all around Turkey, offering high quality productsfor sale. These efforts paved the way to a lively discussion in the public opinionon the general concept of museums. Recently, we invited bids for the modernizationproject of museums’ ticket booths and toll gates.
