Gişelerde bakanlığın yaşadığı temel sorunlar nelerdi?ERTUĞRUL GÜNAY: Müzelerimizde, müzecilikle ilgili fazlaca bilgisi olmayan,orta standartta memurlar çalışıyordu. Müze ile ilgili içselleştirdikleri özel birduygu, aldıkları eğitim olmadığı için gişelerde bazı problemlerle karşılaşıyor, çoksayıda kayırma, kollama, kaçak ihbarı alıyorduk.Gişelerin işletimini TÜRSAB-MTM İş Ortaklığı’na devrettikten sonra, 150’ye yakınpersonelimizi güvenlik gibi başka alanlarda değerlendirme imkanımız oldu.Onların yerine, eğitilmiş, yeni personel gişelerde işbaşı yaptı. Müze ziyaretçileri,gişelerde giyim standartlarından, davranışlarına kadar pek çok alanda dahayüksek düzeyli görevlilerle karşılaşma şansına kavuştu. TÜRSAB-MTM İş Ortaklığıda buradan gelir elde etmeyi hedeflediği için, kaçaklar asgariye indi. Geçmişyıllarda ne kadar kaçak ve ne kadar kayırma olduğuna ilişkin birçok ipucu almayabaşladık.MÜZE DERGİ: Gişelerdeki modern turnikeler sayesinde her geçiş belgelenmişoluyor. Bunun turizm istatistiklerine yansıması olacak mı?ERTUĞRUL GÜNAY: Evet. Yaptığımız iş birliği sayesinde, ziyaretçi kimlikeğilimi ortaya çıkmaya başladı. Önceki yıllarda, yerel yöneticilerin, müze güvenlikbirimlerinin, başka bazı elemanların, bizim rakamlarımıza yansımayan girişleryaptığını tespit ettik. 2011 yılının ilk üç ayında turist sayısı arttı, buradan müzegirişlerine de bir yansıma oldu. Ancak girişlerde kaçaklar engellendiği için, müzeziyaretlerinde, Türkiye ortalamasının üzerinde bir artış görünüyor. Şimdi hemdaha sağlıklı bilgi elde etmeye başladık, hem de müzelerden daha çok gelir eldeetme imkanına kavuştuk.MÜZE DERGİ: TÜRSAB-MTM İş Ortaklığı’nın gişelerden kaçak girişlerin engellenmesi,gişe gelirlerinin arttırılmasının yanı sıra bakanlığınıza 195 taahhüdüdaha var. Bunların arasında size en dikkat çekici gelen hangisidir?entries. Following the transfer of the ticket booths’ operation to the TÜRSAB-MTM Business Partnership, we retrained around 150 of our employees towardsvarious other jobs including security. New, better-trained personnel was put inthe care of the ticket booths. Visitors are now enjoying a higher quality ofservice at museums’ entrances. They are welcomed by well-trained employees,including attitude, politeness, knowledge and a better external appearance inthe way of the personnel’s clothing standards. Since the TÜRSAB-MTMPartnership is committed to raise the level of income from ticket booths, theyare eager to prevent illicit entries of which the number was already seriouslyreduced in a very short period of time. This experience is giving us some clueas to the dimension of the problem in the past.MÜZE DERGİ: We understand that each crossing through the toll gates isrecorded i.e. documented due to a newly installed technically advancedequipment. Is it to expect that this technique will have an improving effect onstatistical data collecting in the field of tourism?ERTUĞRUL GÜNAY: Yes. This type of cooperation allows us to gather dataon visitors’ profiles. In previous years, local authorities, museum securityemployees and some other staff members effectuated entries which were notreflected upon our statistics. In the first quarter of 2011, we recorded anincrease in the number of tourists coming to Turkey and this was naturallyreflected upon the number of museums’ visitors. However, the augmentationin the number of museum visits is sensibly exceeding the overall increasefigure of tourists, due to the fact that illicit entries were effectively prevented.Consequently, on the one hand, we are now able to gather reliable statisticaldata and, on the other hand, we will succeed in securing a higher revenue fromthe museums.MÜZE DERGİ: The TÜRSAB-MTM Business Partnership made an overallnumber of 195 different pledges in the framework of this contract, besidespreventing illicit entries and contributing to an increase of the income frommuseums.
