<strong>2010</strong> RULES & REGULATIONS20R6.23(j)Players eligible to be placed on the protected list who move out of province to play box lacrosseshall be placed on an Out of Province list until they return to the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> jurisdiction.Returning players must register with the Commissioners who will advise the protecting team toplace the player on their protected list. If the team doesn’t wish to add his name to their list theplayer will become a free agent.APPLICABLE TO THE JUNIOR SERIES ONLYR6.24Only players who have not attained their twenty-first birthday prior to January 1 st of the playingseason shall be eligible to play in the Junior series. Proof of age shall be in the form of acertificate issued by the appropriate Registrar of Births or his equivalent. Alternative proof of agemay be accepted by the Board of Directors.R6.25(b)Any junior team may have on their playing roster, for any given game, a maximum of five (5)players who have been signed as “inter-provincial transfer signings”, as per the C.L.A. interprovincialregulations. These players will be known as “out-of-province signings”.Any junior team may sign two (2) “out-of-country” players each year, and may not have more thanfour (4) “out-of-country” players in their lineup for any given game. Teams may not have morethan two (2) “out-of-country” players in their lineup for any given game, who were signed by theirorganization in any given year. “Out-of-country” players will have been signed to an OLA playingcertificate (coming to <strong>Ontario</strong> from the U.S.A.) for the purpose of playing junior lacrosse. A bonafidefamily move will not be considered as coming to <strong>Ontario</strong> for the purpose of playing lacrosse.Any player who has been signed to an OLA minor playing certificate and has an “out-of-province”and “out-of-country” residence, and has played minor lacrosse in the OLA for three (3) years,(must have played his last three (3) years of minor lacrosse in <strong>Ontario</strong> before his draft eligibilityyear, last year bantam and two years midget), will then be classified as a registered OLA playerwhen drafted. He, then, will no longer have the “out-of-province” or “out-of-country” statusattached to his name when drafted. Traded or direct released players, who have been signed byan OLA junior team as an “out-of-province” (inter-provincial) signing or “out-of-country” signing,will carry this status with them to his new junior team.R6.26Except as hereinafter provided, no player shall be registered as a member of, or compete for aclub in any Corporation match who has not established his home in the city, town, police villageor rural district to which his club belongs, before the qualification date in any playing season.R6.27The qualification date for residence must be as of January 1 st in the current playing season.R6.28A player resident in a community represented by a club with a team entered in a category forwhich he is eligible to play must register with that club except where such player’s services arereleased by the club and subject to the <strong>Regulations</strong> and By-laws herein printed.R6.29(a)An over-age midget player (17 years old), who is eligible for Junior but who is resident in amunicipality or area with no Junior club entered in any series for which he is eligible shall begiven the choice of where to play, when the difference between his resident municipality to thetwo or more municipalities does not exceed eight kilometers.
