<strong>2010</strong> RULES & REGULATIONS4nominee by secret ballot. To receive Life Membership to the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong>, anominee must receive a 2/3 majority vote of the General Membership present at the meeting.The newly elected Life Member will be notified by letter by the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong>immediately following the Annual General Meeting.The newly elected Life Member will be presented to the General Membership of the <strong>Ontario</strong><strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> at the following Semi-Annual General Meeting’s luncheon. At this luncheonhe/she will be presented with their Life Membership award. They will receive 4 luncheon ticketsfor their use.Nominations for Life Membership must be sponsored by all of the following:one member of the local club’s executive that the nominee worked withone existing Life Memberone member of the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> Board of Governorsone member of the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> Board of DirectorsB6.02The criteria for Life Membership will be as follows:- a minimum of 25 years of service to the game of lacrosse as a builder- service must include participation in 2 out of 3 of the following; local, Provincial andNational levels- service to the game of lacrosse must be at the highest standard of dedication at all levelsthat has brought dignity to the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong>.- does not have to be currently working in the game of lacrosse- nominee must be a builder onlyB6.03Entitlements of a Life MemberWhen an individual is elected as a Life Member of the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> he/she willreceive a Certificate of Life Membership, (duly signed by the President of the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong><strong>Association</strong>, the Executive Director of the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> and the Chairperson ofthe Life Membership Screening Committee), a Life Membership lapel pin, a Life Member gamepass, entitling the Life Member to free admittance to an <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> orCanadian <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> event being hosted in <strong>Ontario</strong> (regular season and playoff gamesat all levels of lacrosse) and one voting right at any Annual and/or Semi Annual General Meetinghe/she wishes to attend.B6.04Screening CommitteeA Screening Committee will be appointed for a 3 year term at the Annual General Meeting of the<strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong>. After a Committee member has served his/her 3 year term, thatperson can be re-elected again for another 3 year term. The Committee will consist of aChairperson and two other members. The Screening Committee will always have Life Memberssitting on it, one of which must be the Chairperson. Their duty will be to receive all nominationsfor Life Membership, from the Executive Director of the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong>, scrutinizethem and send a maximum of one nomination forward to the Board of Governors of the <strong>Ontario</strong><strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> for their ratification. All non-approved nominations will be sent back to theExecutive Director to be destroyed and the nominator will be notified by letter, from the <strong>Ontario</strong><strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong>, that his/her nomination was not approved.
