<strong>2010</strong> RULES & REGULATIONS3ONTARIO LACROSSE ASSOCIATION – RULES & REGULATIONSARTICLE B-I NAME(now in the OLA Bylaws for 2006)ARTICLE B-II HEAD OFFICEB2.01The head office of the Corporation shall be in the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto in theProvince of <strong>Ontario</strong> (subject to change by special resolution) and at such place within theMunicipality in <strong>Ontario</strong> where the head office is from time to time situated as the Board ofDirectors of the Corporation may from time to time by resolution fix.ARTICLE B-III SEAL(deleted in 2004)ARTICLE B-IV JURISDICTION(now in the OLA Bylaws for 2006)ARTICLE B-V MEMBERSHIP(now in the OLA Bylaws for 2006)ARTICLE B-VI LIFE MEMBERSHIPB6.01Nominations for Life Membership must be made in writing, on the prescribed <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong>form, and must be submitted to Executive Director of the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> no laterthan August 31 st of each year.After August 31 st , the Executive Director will present all of the nominations for Life Membership,that he has received during the year, to the Chairperson of the Life Membership ScreeningCommittee. The Chairperson of the Life Membership Screening Committee will then call ameeting of his/her elected Screening Committee. They will examine all of the nominations andsend one nomination forward to the Board of Governors of the <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> fortheir ratification. Any non-approved nomination will not be accepted for re-nomination for 3 years.A majority vote of 2/3 by the Screening Committee must be reached for an application to goforward to the Board of Governors.The Screening Committee’s approved nomination will then be placed in front of the <strong>Ontario</strong><strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong>’s Board of Governors at the Friday night Board of Governors meeting at the<strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Lacrosse</strong> <strong>Association</strong>’s Annual General meeting. At the Board of Governors meeting, theChairperson of the Screening Committee will be asked to speak for the nomination beingpresented for consideration for Life Membership. After hearing the Chairperson’s presentation,the Board of Governors will vote on the nomination. For a nomination to be successful and go tothe General Membership for their vote, a 2/3 majority secret ballot vote must be obtained.The Chairperson of the Screening Committee and/or the nominee’s nominator will detail thenominee’s bio to the General Membership. The General Membership will then vote for the
