Siemens VAI to further Expands its Engineering and<br />
Manufacturing Capabilities in China<br />
On 7 th December 2011, Siemens VAI launched its new office building<br />
and expanded workshop in Shanghai. Meanwhile the workshop,<br />
formerly known as Morgan Rolling Mill (Shanghai), was renamed to<br />
Siemens VAI Metals Technologies Co. Ltd. Shanghai. “The emerging<br />
markets, like China and India, are the growth engines of Siemens VAI’s<br />
global business,” said Mr. Jan Lueder, General Manager of Metals<br />
Technologies, Industry sector, Siemens Limited China. “Strengthening<br />
the local value chain allows us to be closer to our customers in China<br />
and develop products that are tailored to their specific requirements.”<br />
According to Mr. Peter Muemmler, CFO of Metals Technologies,<br />
Industry Sector, Siemens Limited China, “The new MT office and the<br />
expansion of workshop, with the total investment of more than USD<br />
80mn, marks a progress of Siemens VAI’s strategy to further expand<br />
our local presence and optimize the competitiveness in China. “<br />
