HARMONY SHANGHAI 2012<br />
In the view of 2012 as the anniversary year of “China and Germany<br />
– 40 years of diplomatic relations”, a team from Purple Star Culture<br />
& Communication Company will bring the first Community Dance<br />
Project to China, Shanghai: Harmony Shanghai 2012. Over a period<br />
of five weeks British Star-Choreographer Sir Royston Maldoom will<br />
train 120 Chinese and German children to perform his choreography<br />
based on Igor Stravinsky’s “Firebird” on stage. This intercultural dance<br />
project is attached to the China Shanghai International Arts Festival<br />
and will be presented at the Shanghai Grand Theatre on 24 th of<br />
October. Harmony Shanghai 2012 is supported by the Consulate General<br />
of Germany, the German Chamber of Commerce in China l Shanghai, the<br />
German School as well as other German institutions and companies in<br />
China. “Stay focused” is the main motto of Community Dance. It has<br />
the magic to combine people of different ages, genders and cultural<br />
backgrounds. FIGHT – for your concentration and discipline. SH<strong>IN</strong>E<br />
– in your own power. UNITE – in a dance. Sir Royston Maldoom is<br />
known worldwide for his extraordinary work in Community Dance<br />
partly thanks to the film “RHYTHM IS IT”, a documentary about<br />
the “Rite of Spring” production with Sir Simon Rattle, the Berliner<br />
Philharmoniker, Sir Maldoom and 250 children from Berlin.<br />

Regional Manager for Jiangsu & Zhejiang at the<br />
German Chamber<br />
As of 1 st March 2012 Mr. Joachim Dreyer<br />
has been appointed as Regional Manager<br />
of Jiangsu & Zhejiang Province. He is<br />
succeeding Ms. Daniela Steinmetz who left<br />
the German Chamber in February. Mr. Dreyer<br />
worked for several years as an expert for<br />
equipment financing at a leading Financial<br />
Services Company in Germany. He is a<br />
Banking Professional and holds a diploma<br />
in Business Administration. While studying<br />
and travelling in Asia he developed a deep<br />
interest for China and planned to relocate<br />
there. As the Chamber’s new Regional Manager Jiangsu & Zhejiang<br />
Province, Mr. Dreyer is the first contact person for all inquiries from<br />
German companies which are located in the neighbouring provinces.<br />
