We invite each qualified Member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China • Shanghai to vote for the Board of Directors. The candidates are to represent Principal Member (Hauptmitglieder) or Additional Members (Nebenmitglieder) of the Chamber. Consistent with the Chamber’s statute, Associate Members (individuelle Mitglieder) and Employee Members (Mitarbeitermitglieder) cannot vote or stand for election to the Board. Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe – Fifth Sino-European Economic Conference From 28 th to 30 th November 2012, over 350 experts from the economic, political and academic world will come together at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce to discuss the state of the Sino-European economic relations. The fifth “Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe” will focus on the roles of China and the EU in the global economy, the perspective for Sino-European trade relations, raw material supply, and the liberalisation of the Chinese currency as well as new concepts for “Smart Cities”. The “Hamburg Summit” has an international reputation as a high-ranking Sino-European economic forum, which the participation by the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao in 2006 exemplified. Hence, for 2012, highlevel participation by the Chinese and German governments, the EU institutions as well as several international organisations is expected again. The “Hamburg Summit” was initiated and organised by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce for the first time in 2004 as a platform for an open dialogue between Europe and China with the goal to improve economic relations and mutual understanding. This training will therefore take a closer look at retention management that really works in China. Examples of retention programmes will be discussed and measures that produced a positive impact on turnover rates at small and medium-sized foreign companies will be explained. Employer Branding and Talent Attraction in China State-owned companies are increasingly the first choice for young talents – a consequence of salary levels catching up with MNC's. Career paths as well as national identification are important decision-making factors for young job seekers. Therefore, foreign companies need to re-position themselves in the Chinese talent landscape and underline their attractiveness as employers. This training will introduce the concept of employer branding and explain and practice communication activities to increase visibility and corporate attractiveness towards potential and existing employee target groups.
