Hooking
Turn wool rags to rugs with rug hooking.
We'll start out with a small project that you
will finish in class. NOTE: Starter Kit, pattern,
hook, and wool will be available to
purchase at the first class for approximately

with this technique and it's fun and relaxing!

Hand Hooked Rugs - Made By You!
Decorate your home or workspace with
colorful, textured, wool rugs or wall hangings.
You will learn simple, basic techniques
and complete a small mat or wall
hanging in class. Join me and experience
this creative and fun art form! A kit that
includes a pattern, hook and hand-dyed
wool will be available in class to purchase
for $25. NOTE: Each student must purchase
a 14-inch embroidery hoop and
embroidery scissors on their own.

and wide cut primitive rug hooking. Enjoys
working with colorful, textured, hand dyed
wool, as well as incorporating rug punching

Beginning Knitting
Knitting is the art of twisting yarn around a
couple of needles and coming up with a
unique garment. The words garter, ribbing,
stockinet, cable and that mysterious lace
will take form and meaning as a winter
scarf takes shape. SUPPLIES: You will
need a pair of number 7 single pointed needles,
a size E crochet hook, a 6-inch ruler,
and 3 or more ounces of worsted weight
yarn to create your masterpiece.
Instructor: Iris Lorraine Miller - Her
grandmother taught her to knit as a young
child and she has been knitting for over 70
years. It is one of the best stress management
tools available. She won Best In
Show Handspun Knit with her knitting at
the Fredericksburg County Fair.

Make Your Own Sweater Pattern
Design your own original one-of-a-kind
sweater, using your favorite stitches, and
knit it to fit from your own or someone
else's measurements. You will need yarn
enough to finish the sweater and knitting
needles in gauge to the yarn. On signing
up, you will get instructions on how to
determine how much yarn you will need
and how to figure the size of the needles
for the yarn you buy. Also, you will need a
darning needle, a calculator, tape measure
and lots of time. Our goal is to finish a
sweater in six weeks.

Mosaic
Add that beautiful, colorful, artistic touch
to your room or outdoor area with mosaic.
This class will focus on design, color and
technique, while participants will complete
either a wall hanging, table top or small
bird bath. Colorful tiles, marbles, broken
dishes, pottery and more will be provided.
Participants may wish to bring your own
broken dishes, pottery, or jewelry to
include in your mosaic.
Instructor: Ann Witherwax - A graphic
artis and children's art teacher, she encourages
individual creativity & self expressions
while teaching art.
