● Adult Education Centre’s Art School at Neues Rathaus <strong>Kiel</strong> [New City Hall]<br />
The Adult Education Centre’s Art School offers a broad spectrum for children, youth, and adults. These<br />
classes are generally open to all people. Our lecture rooms at the New City Hall are barrier-free, those at the<br />
Adult Education Centre building are only partially barrier-free.<br />
In the fall of 2011, the Integrative Painting Classes at the Adult Education Centre’s Art School will be held<br />
at the facilities of the Artelier Gallery “artegrale” <strong>Kiel</strong>.<br />

● Förde-vhs [Förde Adult Education Centre] of the City of <strong>Kiel</strong><br />
The varied seminar offerings of the VHS [Adult Education Centre] are generally aimed at all residents of <strong>Kiel</strong>,<br />
Altenholz and Kronshagen. As unfortunately some of the classroom sites are not accessible to handicapped<br />
citizens, we recommend an inquiry by phone under 901-5200. If there is sufficient interest in a particular<br />
course, the Förde-vhs will attempt to relocate individual courses to make them accessible for wheelchair<br />
users.<br />
The program schedule of the Adult Education Centre is available at the beginning of each semester (mid-<br />
January and mid-August) free of charge at the Förde-vhs building (Muhliusstrasse 29-31) and also at many<br />
other venues of the City of <strong>Kiel</strong> (Old and New City Hall, City Library, bookstores, etc.) and also in the towns<br />
of Altenholz and Kronshagen. Among others, the Förde-vhs offers a series of seminars especially for the<br />
deaf and those who developed their hearing impairment later in life, as well as their relatives and friends<br />
(computer classes, sign language, etc.).
