Winton is a world leading quantitative investment manager
specialising in applying advanced scientific techniques to the
analysis of financial markets. We offer a Technology Rotation
Programme, allowing outstanding Software Engineers, early in their
career, to gain experience within the Software teams that deliver
our Research and Trading platforms.
Successful applicants will have three, six-month placements with
different Software teams working on various applications before
taking up a permanent position.
Our software teams work on:
• Software written in C++, C#, SQL, KDB/Q, Python and
various other languages.
• Back-testing platforms used by research to evaluate
candidate trading systems.
• Real-time systems such as our execution and front-office
platforms.
• Our large database infrastructure, which manages our
terabyte-scale financial datasets.
• Web applications for monitoring the trading system
and visualising our data.
Requirements:
• A graduate or post-graduate degree in Computer Science
or similar, from a top tier university.
• An interest and enthusiasm for working on a variety of tasks
in a range of environments and languages.
• Knowledge and experience of modern software engineering
practices from design, to implementation, to testing.

STUDENT SOCIETY
CapitOx is the fastest growing finance and consulting oriented
society in Oxford University. The society runs a multitude of
company presentations, networking events, skills workshops,
speaker events and international business trips throughout
the year. In doing so we aim to help every member develop
the skills needed for their future job, prepare for the internship
application process and potentially meet his or her future
employer.
Our society is structured into four main divisions: Banking,
Investing, Consulting, and Actuarial & Professional Services;
a structure benefiting students who want to get involved in
finance but who aren’t yet sure which area. By becoming a
member of CapitOx we provide the framework for all students
in the University to learn about each division before focusing
on the area that interests them the most.
We currently have connections with the Oxford Careers
Service as well as numerous top-tier banks and financial
institutions, giving you direct access to those in the industry.
