Receipt of the new aircraft<br />
A300-200<br />
This year, a much anticipated event has<br />
marked our national company’s history.<br />
In fact, Tunisair has received on Tuesday,<br />
9 June 2015 its new long-haul aircraft<br />
A300-200, the first of its kind, which<br />
is added to the fleet and will be joined<br />
by its counterpart during the following<br />
month. The new Airbus A300-200 has an<br />
important capacity of 24 seats in business<br />
class and 242 in economy class), besides,<br />
its flight duration capacity is important.<br />
The A330-200 is known to be the aircraft<br />
that suits best the needs of airlines<br />
regarding capacity and range for medium<br />
and long-haul flights.<br />
This new acquisition will allow Tunisair to<br />
have the means of its ambitions regarding<br />
long-haul flights. Besides, its excellent<br />
profitability and its unmatched operating<br />
costs will allow our national company to<br />
continue developing its services while<br />
offering its passengers the comfort of a<br />
top range cabin equipped with a latest<br />
generation entertaining system.<br />
The receipt of the plane, organised on the<br />
tarmac of Tunis-Carthage international<br />
airport, was followed by a ceremony in<br />
honour of the Toulouse delegation.<br />
Because of the significance of the event,<br />
a press conference was held under the<br />
auspices of the Minister of Transport<br />
Mr Mahmoud Ben Romdhan and during<br />
which Ms the Chief Executive Officer<br />
has delivered a speech, followed by Mr<br />
Habib Fekih, Vice President of the aircraft<br />
manufacturer Airbus for Africa and Middle<br />
East and finally the closing remarks by the<br />
Minister of Transport.<br />
Later in the evening, a gala dinner in honour<br />
of the guests was organised in Gammarth<br />
in the presence of the main representatives<br />
of local travel agencies and foreign<br />
tour operators, officials, major tourism<br />
stakeholders, a number of deputies, Airbus<br />
representatives, accompanied by Rolls-<br />
Royce and BNA representatives as well<br />
as the French Ambassador in Tunisia and<br />
finally executives of the national company.<br />
A closing lunch took place the next day in<br />
honour of the foreign guests.<br />
It should be noted that the event was<br />
sponsored by the aircraft manufacturer<br />
Airbus, the engine manufacturer Rolls-<br />
Royce and the Hmila Company. I<br />
