la nouvelle édition de « Dream City » qui se déroulera du 4 au 8 Novembre 2015 s’annonce prometteuse
! Depuis 2007, « Dream City » attire un public de plus en plus nombreux. Ce public est curieux
de découvrir à chaque fois « Dream City » car c’est un festival différent, protéiforme qui évolue
avec le territoire qu’il habite pour combler des vides, chercher des possibles, ouvrir de nouvelles
voies tant artistiques que sociales.
Devant le succès inattendu et la pression des artistes et du public, « Dream City » a perduré devenant
une biennale qui a habité la Médina de Tunis (2007, 2010 et 2012), de Sfax (2012) et le quartier
de l’Estaque à Marseille (2013) dans le cadre de Marseille- Provence capitale euro-méditerranéenne de
la Culture. Les artistes pour cette nouvelle édition seront présents pendant 5 jours sur l’espace public de la
médina sud de Tunis et sa périphérie. Le public pourra découvrir les œuvres à travers 3 parcours.
« Dream City », itinéraires pluridisciplinaires d’art contemporain en espace public, est né en 2007 en Tunisie
comme un coup d’état artistique sur l’impulsion de Selma et Sofiane Ouissi, en réponse à la censure, à l’isolement
des artistes, à l’absence totale de statut de ceux-ci et à la confiscation de l’espace public par un état totalitaire.Selma
et Sofiane Ouissi ont réuni des artistes de toutes disciplines et ont créé des petites formes artistiques
sous forme de parcours ensemençant la Médina de Tunis, cœur historique de la ville. Le thème de cette
nouvelle édition sera « l’art et lien social », en effet dans une société en pleine reconstruction, il s’agit de poser
les bases de ce que nous voulons pour le futur : l’art comme ciment d’une société nouvelle, l’art comme une pratique
constructive et une volonté de cohésion sociale et interculturelle d’où la thématique choisie : ART ET LIEN
SOCIAL.Les artistes devront créer une œuvre contextuelle avec, autour, et/ou pour une population donnée. I

medina of Tunis, 5 th edition

the new edition of “Dream City“ that will
take place from 4 to 8 November 2015
is full of promise ! Since 2007, “Dream
City“ is attracting an increasingly large
audience. The public is always curious
to discover “Dream City“ because it is
a different, multifaceted festival that
evolves with the territory in order to fill in the voids, look for
possibilities, open new artistic and social routes.
Thanks to this unexpected success and the public
pressure, “Dream City“ has become a biennial event that
took place in the Medina of Tunis (2007, 2010 and 2012), of
Sfax (2012) and in the Estaque neighbourhood in Marseille
(2013) as part of Marseille-Provence, Euro-Mediterranean
Capital of Culture. The artists, for this new edition, will be present during five days on the public space of the
Medina south of Tunis and its surroundings. The public will discover the artworks through three itineraries.
“Dream City“, multidisciplinary itineraries of contemporary art in the public space, was born in 2007 in Tunisia
as an artistic coup led by Selma and Sofiane Ouissi, in response to censorship, to the artists’ isolation and the
absence of status for them and to the confiscation of the public space by a totalitarian state. Selma and
Sofiane Ouissi gathered artists from all disciplines and created small artistic forms in the form of an itinerary
through the Medina of Tunis, historic heart of the city. This new edition’s theme will be “the art and the social
fabric“. In a society that is rebuilding itself, we must lay the foundations of our future : art as the cement of a
new society, art as a constructive practice and a desire for social and intercultural cohesion, hence the chosen
theme : ART AND SOCIAL FABRIC. The artists will have to create a contextual artwork with, around, and/or for
a given population. I
