The Mist in the Mirror
Fans of high-quality drama are
in for not one, but two treat this
March – with a splash of comedy
on the side if they want to
enjoy a treble!
Once there, she is surprised when Superintendent
Hallett, the man with whom she is having an affair,
also arrives for an entirely different reason.
Critics have described it as “the best stage thriller for
years” (Sunday Mirror) and “a thriller that achieves it
all” (The Times).
The Mist In The Mirror (17 to 21 March) is adapted
from the novel by The Woman In Black author, Susan
Hill and is a gothic, fireside story which leaves a
terrifying eeriness suspended in the air.
This world premiere is brought to the stage by
Oldham Coliseum and Imitating The Dog and
promises tension and atmosphere in abundance.
Kicking off the month are Middleground Theatre
Company who bring The Business of Murder to the
Theatre Royal from 2 to 7 March.
Written by Richard Harris (A Touch of Frost, The
Sweeney, The Last Detective), the play stars Robert
Gwilym, known by millions for his role as Dr Max
Gallagher in Casualty.
Stone, a humourless and dour man invites Dee, a
television playwright, over to his flat on the premise
of discussing a script.
And for those who want a laugh or two, John
Godber’s Bouncers – the international smash hit
comedy – returns (12 to 14 March).
This is the story of one night in a Yorkshire disco in
the 1980s – an outrageous parody of Saturday Night
Fever – and all the gang are out on the town, the
boys, the girls, the cheesy DJ, all under the watchful
gaze of the Bouncers.
The John Godber Company recently visited
the Theatre Royal with On The Piste and
The Debt Collectors.
