Escape to the
country
at The Norfolk Mead
The bright sunshine cast a light on green
meadows and babbling brooks, and the chill in
the air seemed to float away with the breeze.

We are in March now, the start
of spring. But beware of bright
mornings and the false hope they
can bring… Unless, that is you find
yourself in beautiful Coltishall in
deep Norfolk.
We were lucky to be invited to the Norfolk Mead
and found ourselves escaping to the country, to
a gorgeous Georgian hotel in luscious surrounds.
The first thing that hits you when pull up at the
hotel, is well… the hotel. The impressive red brick
building stands akimbo as you look up. Wide sash
windows and deep balconies promise a glorious
morning, as you wake up and look out over the
sweeping grounds.
Spoilt with ‘The Chanterelle’ bridal Suite, we were
not disappointed. Double French doors opened
onto a large balcony overlooking the grounds and
River Bure. A super king-size bed didn’t dominate
the large, airy room with its high ceilings and the
luxurious en-suite bathroom made getting ready
for the evening a pleasure.
It is often the small details that make you smile.
