Hypostat 2015
On 30 September 2015, the EMF-ECBC published Hypostat 2015 , which is its main statistical report, encompassing data on recent developments in housing and mortgage markets in the EU28 and beyond. Hypostat is the result of a collaborative effort by the European Mortgage Federation’s national delegations and external experts. The publication covers 33 countries – i.e. the EU28 plus Iceland, Norway, Russia, Turkey and the United States.

Foreword<br />
Finally, in the spirit of looking forward, we see a clear role to be played in the coming years by the housing and mortgage<br />
industry in the very important, ongoing debate on energy efficiency. The industry is keen to act as a facilitator in<br />
introducing and financing solutions aimed at improving the energy consumption of the current stock of dwellings with<br />
the ultimate aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing occupancy/ownership costs for rental/owner housing<br />
respectively and re-deploying older housing stock (and neighbourhoods) through modernisation and reinvestment.<br />
<strong>Hypostat</strong> will seek to monitor market trends in these areas with a view to enhancing transparency and comparability<br />
for market participants. The EMF-ECBC, also on behalf of the EMF Statistics Committee and its Chairman, Christian<br />
Nilsson, would like to thank all contributors for making the publication of <strong>Hypostat</strong> possible. We hope you will find this<br />
