The Hidden Foundation of
Daystar University
The essential part of Daystar is hidden!

Inside the Daystar is hidden the pattern
of the Cross. The new hope, new day,
and guidance that we seek is derived
from the Cross of Jesus, who is the
Daystar.
When you look at the morning star,
it is very bright, usually with a tail of
light that is reproduced in the symbol
of Daystar shaped as a cross. Looking
at the brilliance of the Daystar symbol,
we often forget that the brilliance we
admire comes from His giving Himself
on the Cross, an apparent tragedy and
defeat.
However, the Cross is the foundation
of hope, leading us to a new day, and
to eternal life. The weight of wrong, of
judgment and eternal death is removed
by the Cross that is hidden in the
brilliance of hope and promise for a
new day. Paradoxically, an instrument of
death is the way to life.
Christian education, as at Daystar
University comes from the Cross! If
there was no Cross, there would be
no Christian education. Denial of the
Cross inevitably leads to a denial of
the transforming results of the Cross.
Christian education then degenerates
into merely education lacking spiritual
and moral dynamic.
If there is no willingness to die to self,
there is no way to have the fullness of
life in Christ. As Paul said, “I am crucified
with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I,
but Christ.” (Galatians 2:20) The hidden
Cross of Daystar is the mystery of God
that leads to life, hope, guidance and a
new day.
Can’t we have the brilliant guidance
of the Star without giving up anything?
Don’t we deserve hope and a new day?
We desperately desire those results,
trying every other way to have them –
except the way of the Cross.
It is only when the full message of
the Cross is realized and there is death
to self that we can have fullness of life
that God Intends for Africa.
