celebrated the second chapter
of the annual rebranded
Falcons of Character Awards
Dinner at Lukenya Getaway on Friday
April 10, 2015. Hon. Faith Wathome, the
Minister for Sports, Culture and Tourism,
Machakos County, was the guest of
honor. Among the other distinguished
guests were the university Vicechancellor
Dr. Timothy Wachira, Daystar
University co-founders, Dr Donald and
Mrs Faye Smith, Deputy Vice-chancellor,
Finance and Administration, Mr Jomo
Gatundu, Corporate Affairs Manager Mr.
Charles Kilonzo, Dean Community Life,
Dr James Karau, Sports and Recreation
Officer, Mr Maurice Masiga, his
assistants Mr John Yidah and Ms Rachel
Njoroge.
In her speech, Hon. Wathome
applauded the Falcons for the team
spirit fostered within them. She notably
promised free access of the new
Kenyatta Sports Stadium in Machakos
to the Falcons soccer team, for their
training. This was in recognition of their
excellent performance in the league,
and their subsequent promotion to
the Division 1 Nationwide League.
She appreciated the Falcons 7s Rugby
Team for its consistent participation
in Machakos County’s Masaku Sevens
tournament and for also winning the
most promising rugby team in Machakos
County award, at a recent award
ceremony of her ministry. She urged the
Falcons to keep on performing well.
Among the accolades for the evening
was the most improved team of the year
