C. Nonelective officers, once appointed <strong>and</strong> confirmed, shall continue in their<br />

respective offices until retirement, voluntary termination, or involuntary<br />

termination by law or pursuant to general ordinance or resolution enacted by<br />

the Common Council.<br />

2.0303 CLERK<br />

The office of Clerk is hereby created. The Clerk shall per<strong>for</strong>m all duties required<br />

by Wisconsin Statutes Section 62.09(11), other applicable statutes, the<br />

Cemetery/Mausoleum administrative duties <strong>and</strong> as directed by the Mayor <strong>and</strong><br />

Common Council. The duties of the Clerk shall be further defined in the position<br />

description created by David M. Griffith & Associates, Ltd. as amended from time<br />

to time, which is incorporated herein by reference. The individual holding the<br />

<strong>for</strong>mer office of Clerk-Treasurer shall serve as the first Clerk.<br />

2.0304 FINANCE DIRECTOR-TREASURER<br />

The office of Finance Director is hereby created. The Finance Director-Treasurer<br />

shall per<strong>for</strong>m all statutory duties of the Comptroller required by Wisconsin<br />

Statutes Section 62.09(10)(a), all statutory duties of the Treasurer required by<br />

Wisconsin Statutes Section 62.09(9)(a), all duties required by other applicable<br />

statutes, <strong>and</strong> as directed by the Mayor <strong>and</strong> Common Council. The duties of the<br />

Finance Director-Treasurer shall be further defined in the position description<br />

created by David M. Griffith & Associates, Ltd. as amended from time to time,<br />

which is incorporated herein by reference. The individual holding the <strong>for</strong>mer<br />

office of Finance Director shall serve as the first Finance Director-Treasurer.<br />

2.0305 SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS<br />

The office of Superintendent of Public Works is hereby created as a division head<br />

who shall report to the Director of Public Works. The duties of the Superintendent<br />

of Public Works shall include the supervision of the streets, refuse, <strong>and</strong> sanitation<br />

operations <strong>and</strong> which duties shall be further defined in the position description<br />

created by David M. Griffith & Associates, Ltd. as amended from time to time,<br />

which is incorporated hereby by reference.<br />

2.306 CITY ATTORNEY<br />

A. The City Attorney shall have the following duties:<br />

1. The Attorney shall conduct all of the legal business in which the City is<br />

interested, <strong>and</strong> shall be the legal adviser to the Common Council <strong>and</strong> all<br />

City officers, boards, <strong>and</strong> commissions.<br />

2. He shall, when requested by City officers, give written legal opinions,<br />

which shall be filed with the Clerk.<br />
