3. He shall draft ordinances, bonds, <strong>and</strong> other instruments as may be<br />
required by City officers.<br />
4. He shall examine the tax <strong>and</strong> assessment rolls <strong>and</strong> other tax proceedings<br />
<strong>and</strong> advise the proper City officers in regard thereto.<br />
5. The Council may employ <strong>and</strong> compensate special counsel to assist in or<br />
take charge of any matter in which the City is interested.<br />
6. The City Attorney shall per<strong>for</strong>m such other duties as provided by State<br />
law <strong>and</strong> as designated by the Common Council.<br />

2.0307 RESERVED FOR FUTURE USE<br />
2.0308 DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS<br />
The office of Director of Public Works is hereby created. The duties of the<br />
Director of Public Works shall be further defined in the position description<br />
created by David M. Griffith <strong>and</strong> Associates, Ltd. as amended from time to time,<br />
which is incorporated herein by reference. The Director of Public Works shall be<br />
a voting member of the Board of Public Works (Section 2.0402) <strong>and</strong> the Plan<br />
Commission (Section 2.0409). The Director of Public Works shall per<strong>for</strong>m all<br />
duties of the City Engineer required by Wisconsin Statutes <strong>and</strong> the Marinette<br />
Municipal Code.<br />
2.0309 ASSESSOR/BUILDING INSPECTOR<br />
A. The Assessor/Building Inspector shall be appointed according to the<br />
provisions of Sec. 2.0302.<br />
1. The Assessor/Building Inspector shall be certified by the Wisconsin<br />
Department of Revenue, pursuant to Sec. 73.09, Wis. Stats., as qualified<br />
to per<strong>for</strong>m the functions of assessor.<br />
2. The Assessor/Building Inspector or his designee shall issue all permits<br />
required by law or this Municipal Code <strong>for</strong> building or heating work<br />
done within the City. He or his authorized designee shall have the power<br />
<strong>and</strong> authority at all reasonable hours, <strong>for</strong> any proper purpose, to enter<br />
upon private or public premises <strong>and</strong> make inspection thereof <strong>and</strong> to<br />
require the production of any required permit.<br />

2.0310 MUNICIPAL JUDGE; MUNICIPAL COURT<br />
A. Established<br />
Pursuant to the authority granted by <strong>Chapter</strong> 755, Wisconsin Statutes, there<br />
is hereby established the Municipal Court <strong>for</strong> the City of Marinette,<br />
Wisconsin.<br />
