A. The last day of a term expiring in any given year shall be the day<br />

immediately preceding the third Tuesday in April.<br />

B. The first day of a term commencing in any given year shall be the third<br />

Tuesday in April.<br />

C. Any member whose term has expired shall continue in office until a<br />

successor is appointed. Once a successor is appointed, the successor shall<br />

service <strong>for</strong> the remainder of the new term.<br />

D. In the event of a vacancy in an unexpired term, a new member shall be<br />

appointed through the normal procedures <strong>for</strong> the particular board,<br />

commission, or committee, who shall serve <strong>for</strong> the unexpired portion of the<br />

term.<br />

2.0419 RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT<br />

All appointments to any City of Marinette Committee, Commission, Board or<br />

other governing body shall only consist of residents of the City of Marinette<br />

unless otherwise specifically provided by law. “Residency” shall mean primary<br />

residence within the City limits based on the totality of the circumstances. Failure<br />

to maintain the residency requirement shall result in vacating the office.<br />

2.0420 MARINETTE SENIOR ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS<br />

The Mayor shall appoint two members to the Marinette Senior Association’s<br />

Board of Directors subject to approval from the Common Council. One<br />

appointment shall be a member of the Common Council. The other appointment<br />

shall be a member of the Board of Recreational Programming. Such appointments<br />

shall be <strong>for</strong> one-year terms. (Ordinance 2005-2034 adopted 4-6-05)<br />

2.0421 STEPHENSON LIBRARY BOARD<br />

The Mayor shall appoint members to the Stephenson Library Trust Board subject<br />

to approval from the Common Council. The Stephenson Library Trust Board<br />

shall consist of seven (7) members serving staggered three-year terms.<br />

2.0422 RESCUE SQUAD<br />

The Mayor shall appoint a member of the Common Council to serve as liaison to<br />

the Emergency Rescue Squad, Inc., subject to approval from the Common<br />

Council. The liaison shall serve a one-year term. (Ordinance 2005-2034 adopted<br />
