• Workers should immediately report to the<br />

pastor or administration any behaviors or other<br />

incidents that seem abusive or inappropriate.<br />

Upon notification, appropriate actions will be<br />

taken and reports made in compliance with<br />

the operating procedure of these policies.<br />

• Guidelines for volunteers who work with<br />

your and children will be provided to each<br />

volunteer.<br />

• Children shall not be allowed to roam<br />

around the church without adult<br />

supervision. Parents are responsible for<br />

supervising their children before and after<br />

Sabbath School.<br />

• No child should be released to use the<br />

restroom unless accompanied by a parent<br />

or older sibling.<br />

• A responsible adult shall be designated to<br />

circulate in and around the church, including<br />

parking areas to provide security. This is<br />

critical when only one adult is present at some<br />

activities for minors, such as a Sabbath School<br />

division.<br />

• Any discipline shall occur within the<br />

visual contact of another adult. All<br />

forms of corporal punishment are strictly<br />

prohibited.<br />

• All meetings for children or youth must have<br />

the approval of the pastor and/or church<br />

board, especially overnight activities. Minors<br />

must have signed parental permission for each<br />

trip, including emergency medical treatment<br />

release.<br />

• It there is a known sex offender attending a<br />

church, a deacon or other responsible adult<br />

shall be assigned to monitor the person<br />

while on the premises or at off-site church<br />

activity. The offender shall be informed of<br />

the procedure. If a sex offender transfers to<br />

or attends another church, the leadership of<br />

that church shall be notified.<br />
