Sec. TT-1. 33 MRSA §479-C, as revised by PL 2011, c. 657, Pt. W, §5, is further amended<br />
to read:<br />
§479-C. Conservation easement registry<br />
A holder of a conservation easement that is organized or doing business in the State shall<br />
annually report to the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry the book and page<br />
number at the registry of deeds for each conservation easement that it holds, the municipality and<br />
approximate number of acres protected under each easement and such other information as the<br />
Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry determines necessary to fulfill the<br />
purposes of this subchapter. The filing must be made by a date and on forms established by the<br />
Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry to avoid duplicative filings when possible<br />
and otherwise reduce administrative burdens. The annual filing must be accompanied by a $30<br />
$80 fee. The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry shall maintain a permanent<br />
record of the registration and report to the Attorney General any failure of a holder disclosed by<br />
the filing or otherwise known to the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. The<br />
fees established under this section must be held by the Department of Agriculture, Conservation<br />
and Forestry in a nonlapsing, special account to defray the costs of maintaining the registry and<br />
carrying out its duties under this section.<br />

SUMMARY<br />
This Part changes the conservation easement registry fee from $30 to $80.<br />
PART UU<br />
Sec. UU-1. Transfer balances. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, at the close<br />
of fiscal year 2016-17, the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry shall transfer<br />
after the deduction of all <strong>allocations</strong>, financial commitments, other designated funds or any other<br />
transfer authorized by statute, any remaining balance in the Division of Plant Industry program,<br />
Federal Expenditures Fund to the Division of Quality Assurance and Regulation program,<br />
Federal Expenditures Fund.<br />
