Dissatisfaction with
focus on cybersecurity
Just 35% of Irish audit committee
members are satisfied with their level of
focus on managing cybersecurity risks,
according to KPMG’s latest Global Audit
Committee Pulse Survey. At a global
level, 25% are satisfied, despite the issue
being identified as a key challenge
by committee members. While
audit committees in general express
confidence in financial reporting
and audit quality, they rank legal/
regulatory compliance, cybersecurity
risk, company controls around risk, tone
at the top and organisational culture as
their top challenges.

Deloitte Ireland has acquired Red
Planet, a Dublin-based innovation
consultancy. The firm focuses on
driving corporate revenue growth
through structured access to start-up
innovations. According to Brendan
Jennings, Managing Partner at Deloitte
Ireland, Red Planet is a clear fit for the
Big 4 firm. “We have to disrupt the way
we work and deliver value,” he said.

and accelerated growth.” Karl Aherne,
CEO of Red Planet, added: “Companies
need to hardwire innovation into
every part of their business, at every
level, which will enable 10 times rather
than 10% growth.” The deal follows
the launch of Deloitte Ireland’s new
Blockchain Hub, its recent acquisition
of System Dynamics and ongoing
investment in robotics, artificial
intelligence and analytics.
Lancaster draws the
crowds at Leinster
Society Rugby Luncheon
Stuart Lancaster was the main speaker
at the Chartered Accountants Leinster
Society’s 2017 Rugby Luncheon. The
event was a huge success, raising €12,000
for the IRFU Charitable Trust. Pictured
