Making a good
start matters!
Every year the home textile industry makes a good start to new
year. The professionals push the button in Frankfurt. Heimtextil
becomes the meeting point. But as there are different fiscal years of
countries, this sector has another start for the new year too. It is the
Chinese way…
As a Chinese saying goes, “A good start in spring determines a
whole year’s work.” March is the golden time for trading. The 39th
CIFF (Guangzhou) which falls on March 18-21/28-31, 2017 will attract
the attention of the global home textile and furniture industry.
As a dynamic fair operating in the sector for twenty years, -the 39th
will be held this year in China’s Pearl River Delta and an important
platform that links the world furniture sector - CIFF will push the
button for the success and motivation of the sector. We will be
there along with around 40 Turkish companies attending the two
phases of this prestigious global event.
With our next issue we will be at Cernobbio, Italy, where Proposte,
our traditional destination for the first week of May, is held. It is
another very influential event triggering the trade for fabric manufacturers.
It is unique and only-European show hosting four Turkish
exhibitors inside the Villa Erba, which is the venue of the fair.
Later in May we will be at home for Evteks Istanbul show which is
one of the major global fairs in the sector.
The Turkish home textile industry is one of the world leaders with
its wide range of products and superior quality in home textile production,
especially in the production of towels, bed sheets and covers,
curtains, tulle, embroidery, guipure and quilt covers. Turkey has
the largest machine park for the production of both embroidery and
guipure in the world. Europe’s largest factory producing quilt covers
is in Turkey. The Turkish home textile industry has also acquired
the latest technology with a high production capacity, a highly
skilled labor pool, and design and fashion capabilities. In addition,
the industry has managed to reduce the cost of production below
the world average while it has increased the quality of its products.
Therefore, with a huge production capacity, high quality and strong
competitiveness, Turkey was among the world’s top three suppliers
of towels, bed sheets, bedspreads and curtains in 2015.
