industry insider
says of Katy and
Taylor. “They’re

stubborn to

Katy Perry’s
answer spoke
volumes. Asked
by Jimmy Fallon
whether her new song
“Swish Swish” was “about
anyone we know” on May
19, the singer responded,
“I think it’s a great anthem
for people to use whenever
someone’s trying to hold
you down or bully you.”
She didn’t name names,
but it was clear she was
talking about her longtime
rival Taylor Swift.
“It’s a [slam],” a source close
to Taylor tells In Touch of
the song about putting a
“bish” in her place. Not only
is there the obvious similarity
between the title and Taylor’s
last name, but one lyric
in particular stands out: “A
tiger / Don’t lose no sleep /
Don’tneedopinions/From
ashellfishorasheep,”Katy
sings. Back in 2014, the day
after a Rolling Stone article
came out in which Taylor told
the mag that her song “Bad
Blood” was about a former
friend and fellow pop star,
Katy referenced the movie
Mean Girls in a cryptic tweet:
“Watch out for the Regina
George in sheep’s clothing.”
“Of course Taylor is the sheep
she refers to in her new song,”
says an industry insider, adding
that while it may have
taken her two years to strike
back, “Katy is definitely coming
for Taylor.”
And Katy’s going for the
jugular. The 32-year-old
singer tapped Nicki Minaj —
who famously Twitter beefed
with Taylor, 27, in 2015 (see
sidebar) — for the track.
