in 2000 when she filmed Tomb<br />
aider there. <strong>In</strong> 2002, she adopted<br />
7-month-old Maddox from a<br />
Battambang orphanage. “Without<br />
Cambodia,” she’s said, “I may<br />
neverhavebecomeamother.”<br />

After spending time in Cambodia filming Lara Croft: Tomb<br />
Raider in 2000, Angelina contacted the United Nations<br />
High Commissioner forRefugeestogetinvolved.Shewas<br />
named a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador in 2001.<br />

My Father, which gives a child’s<br />
view of the Cambodian genocide<br />
of the late 1970s, in Phnom<br />
Penh. At its February <strong>2017</strong><br />
premiere, she called the film<br />
“my way of saying thank you<br />
to Cambodia.”<br />
