ASSESSING VOCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE<br />

An Advanced Learner Loan may apply to you<br />

Have you completed Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment Level 3 Award? Then this qualification is the next step for<br />

you. On this course you will assess both occupational competence in the workplace and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding<br />

in settings such as workshops, the classroom or other training environments. Please note, to enrol on this course you must have access<br />

to assess a minimum of two candidates. You will build a portfolio, which will include direct observations and you have one-to-one<br />

support - a maximum of six, one hour sessions, these will take place in the <strong>College</strong> on alternate Thursdays as agreed with your tutor.<br />

Once you have completed the Certificate, and gained some experience, you can progress on to the Internal Quality Assurance (formerly<br />

Internal Verification) qualification or the Award in Education & Training (AET).<br />

If you are aged 19 or over then you may be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.<br />

UNDERSTANDING THE INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE OF ASSESSMENT PROCESSES & PRACTICE<br />

LEVEL 4 AWARD No fee reduction available<br />

Do you already have your Assessors Qualification? Do you now want to support Assessors in their roles or would you like to learn how to<br />

internally quality assure Assessors? If so, the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualifications are the courses for you. You start with this<br />

knowledge unit where you will complete assignments, gaining an understanding of internal quality assurance without any requirement<br />

to practice as IQAs. All assignments must be word processed. Once this is completed, you can progress on to the Leading the Internal<br />

Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes & Practice Level 4 Certificate. This course is also suitable for managers who wish to gain a<br />

better understanding of the quality assurance of assessment practice. You may also undertake the Award in Education & Training (AET).<br />

Please note, you will attend <strong>College</strong> on seven alternate Thursdays during term <strong>time</strong> between the dates shown.<br />

INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE OF ASSESSMENT PROCESSES & PRACTICE LEVEL 4 AWARD<br />

Have you completed the Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes & Practice Level 4 Award? If so, this is<br />

the next step for you. This qualification is for those who internally quality assure assessors of assessment, but who do not manage the<br />

centre, or other internal quality assessors. To enrol on this course you must have access to two assessors who you are supporting and<br />

they must each have a minimum of two candidates who are studying for a qualification in your chosen vocational area. You will build a<br />

portfolio for this unit, which will include direct observations and have one-to-one support - a maximum of five, one hour sessions.<br />

These will take place in college on alternate Thursdays as agreed with your tutor. Once you have completed the Award, you could<br />

progress on to the Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes & Practice Level 4 Certificate or the Award in<br />

Education & Training (AET).<br />

LEADING THE INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE OF ASSESSMENT PROCESSES & PRACTICE LEVEL 4<br />

Have you achieved your IQA qualification? This is the qualification for you if you are looking to take the next step as a Lead Internal<br />

Quality Assurer. You cover topics including wider quality assurance responsibilities and managing others, developing policies or managing<br />

External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits. To enrol on this course you must have access to two quality assurers whom you can manage<br />

and support as they each quality assure the assessments of two assessors. You will build a portfolio for this unit, which will include<br />

direct observations and have one-to-one support - a maximum of five, one hour sessions. These will take place in college on alternate<br />

Thursdays as agreed with your tutor. Once you have completed the Certificate, you may wish to study the Award in Education &<br />

Training (AET).<br />
