THE LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE (LRC)<br />
Offering more than books...<br />
The Learning Resource Centre at <strong>Shipley</strong> <strong>College</strong> is for everyone<br />
on a course or apprenticeship. The LRC’s helpful, friendly team of<br />
staff are always ready to offer help and advice. Our LRC provides<br />
a ‘one-stop shop’ for your information, computing, study and<br />
coursework presentation requirements.<br />
There is a flexible learning environment with individual and<br />
group study work areas where you can access books, magazines,<br />
newspapers, DVDs, online electronic resources and the Internet.<br />
The LRC has mobile technology available to support your learning<br />
including tablets, laptops, voice recorders and video and still<br />
cameras, which are all available for loan using your <strong>College</strong> ID<br />
badge. We look forward to seeing you!<br />

NATIONAL UNION OF STUDENTS (NUS)<br />
Student discount<br />
If you are a student or an apprentice, you are eligible to buy an<br />
NUS card for approx £12 - £15. With the card you will be able<br />
to take advantage of student discounts offered in a variety<br />
of different places including restaurants, high street stores,<br />
supermarkets and UK attractions. To find out more information<br />

GYM<br />
Any student can access the gym based in Victoria Hall where<br />
you can use a fantastic range of fitness equipment. Following an<br />
induction to ensure you know how to use equipment safely,<br />
you are good to go.<br />
UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE<br />
We are very fortunate to be situated within the beautiful village of Saltaire, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The village holds many annual<br />
events such as the World Heritage Weekend, Saltaire Festival, the Saltaire Arts Trail, Bradford Dragon Boat Festival and was also part of<br />
the Tour de Yorkshire <strong>2017</strong> route which saw the cyclists pass through the village. The local community came down to cheer them on and<br />
take part in activities outside Victoria Hall and in Roberts Park.<br />
