Although the localities were selected by Romanian and Hungarian experts on the criterion of
poverty and occurence of social problems of the Roma communities, we can notice differences
in the ethnic composition of the neighborhoods. In Romania, the Roma tend to live in compact
areas with Roma majority population (82.88%), while in Hungary the percentage is only
33.66%. However if we take items 3 and 4, the situation is clearly different for the two
countries (44.55% in Hungary and 1.35% in Romania).
