KhaldQn, Abul-Fida’, al-Suhaili, al-Khara’itl,
and other scholars towards historiography.
In our opinion, the Holy Qur’an was certainly
the first foundation [of Muslim history. It was
also the prime mover in this direction, but the
Arab historians and traditionists took up their
work so that they may transmit the Qur an
teachings, personal example of the Ho y

phet and the practices of the ngnti> „
