into disintegration and is totally ruined. Such a<br />
nation can never achieve greatness and is bound<br />
to fall into decline and extinction.<br />
It is not we who are saying this. This is the<br />
dictum <strong>of</strong> the Holy Qur’an that if oppression and<br />
tyranny take root in a society, it<br />
is ruined.<br />
[“Nor are We going to d sstroy a popalation except<br />
when its members practise inequity (tyranny) (xxviii.<br />
59 .)]<br />

It is not necessary that all the people in a<br />
society should practise tyranny. It is<br />
not necessary<br />
that the whole society should be a society<br />
<strong>of</strong> oppressors. It there is a small section <strong>of</strong> oppressors<br />
but no one protests against their<br />
doings, if<br />
no movement is launched against oppvessois and<br />
people suffer this situation calmly, ruiu and destruction<br />
overtake the society. Then both the<br />
virtuous and the evil-doers meet the same fate.<br />
Those who have committed crimes are equally<br />
punished with those who have been passive spectators<br />
<strong>of</strong> the situation.<br />
I here is another verse <strong>of</strong> the Holy Qur 5,n<br />
