finds mention in Mcihxbhayatci and Jataka tales<br />
which proves that the evidence <strong>of</strong> Rigveda<br />
is authentic to a certain extent. Further pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
this may be had in the writings <strong>of</strong> Greek diarists<br />
who declare that Sevi was the largest state in<br />
the Punjab and existed till the invasion <strong>of</strong><br />
I Alexander the Great .<br />

Another testimony which establishe the<br />
L historical importance <strong>of</strong> Rigveda is that Rigveda<br />
says about the Gandhara tribe that it<br />
was settled in the region lying between the Kabul<br />
Valley, Sind Valley and Gomal river. It has<br />
also told us about Pakhtu tribe that it was a<br />
branch <strong>of</strong> the Gandhara tribe. Subsequent history<br />
has confirmed these facts and Pakhtu tribe has<br />
