Lane 5, corresponding to the v2 = green primer, is empty, showing that no<br />

str<strong>and</strong>s containing that sequence were present. Lanes 4 <strong>and</strong> 6, corresponding<br />

to v2 = red <strong>and</strong> v2 = blue primers respectively contain normal length product,<br />

showing that str<strong>and</strong>s not containing the sequence v2 = green were not<br />

removed.<br />

Lanes 7 to 9 show the result of the removal of str<strong>and</strong>s encoding v2 = blue.<br />
