For two decades, naturalist Ian McAllister has<br />

been follow<strong>in</strong>g an elusive type of wolf that<br />

lives <strong>in</strong> BC’s Great Bear Ra<strong>in</strong>forest, can swim<br />

like an otter and can fi sh like the bears that<br />

share the habitat. He’s documented this rare<br />

and fasc<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g animal through remote fi lm<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

track<strong>in</strong>g and patient watch<strong>in</strong>g. He br<strong>in</strong>gs his<br />

research to life <strong>in</strong> his book The Sea Wolves,<br />

which not only puts to rest our idea of “the Big<br />

Bad Wolf” but also underl<strong>in</strong>es the need to protect<br />

the valuable habitat <strong>in</strong> which the sea wolf lives.<br />

où Zoé zozota, un abécédaire (peut-être pas) à la<br />

fois sérieux et humoristique. Parfois les images<br />

suggèrent une vision différente de ce que les<br />

mots racontent. Les enfants de tous âges seront<br />

enchantés par l’humour du texte, par la possibilité<br />

de découvrir comment les images illustrent (ou<br />

pas) les mots et par les discussions et les débats<br />

qui s’ensuivront.<br />

spoken word artist Shauntay Grant teams<br />

up with author, illustrator and CBC broadcaster<br />

Kev<strong>in</strong> Sylvester to br<strong>in</strong>g their stories to<br />

life for young readers. Grant takes her<br />

audience on a tour of Canada’s other coast,<br />

Halifax <strong>in</strong> particular, lead<strong>in</strong>g them down the<br />

streets and through the Citadel. Sylvester<br />

will enterta<strong>in</strong> with his tale of C<strong>in</strong>dy W<strong>in</strong>ter’s<br />

hockey aspirations—from her battles with her<br />

teammates, the Blister Sisters, to the good<br />

fortune brought by her Fairy Goaltender. An<br />

afternoon of great storytell<strong>in</strong>g awaits.<br />
