Jammu & Kashmir state is often referred to as the "crown of India" due to its geographical location<br />

and its majestic beauty. The Eastern half of J&K state is home to the wild and enigmatic mountains<br />

of Ladakh. Tucked away in the imposing Himalayas is the ancient Phuktal monastery, the spiritual<br />

center of these mountains and our destination on this arduous trip.<br />
