Thriving Through Brokenness

We live in a world of
brokenness. There
are times when we
feel alive but many
times we just feel so broken and
fear even moving forward. Some
people allow their broken past to
stop them from the calling that
God placed on them. I always
tell people to never allow who
you think you are to stop you
from being who God called you
to be.
This subject is a passion of mine
because people don’t realize
how much brokenness rules their
lives. In many cases your past
pain and still controlling you. I
see this all the time. It’s also why
my wife and I are writing a book
called “Broken Together” about
how your past affects your marriage.
This issue isn’t just for married
people though. When you feel
broken, it takes away all of your
passion for the present. Where
there is no hope in the future,
there is no power in the present
and brokenness destroys all
hope in many people.
They go and live their lives with
this chip on their shoulder and
as they go through life and bad
things happen to them, they
point out, see, this always happens.
They feel like they are attracted
to these situations and in
reality they are.
Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) Death
and life are in the power of the
tongue: and they that love it shall
eat the fruit thereof.
There is so much truth in that one
Bible verse. Unpacking that you
could do a sermon every week
on that one verse. It explains so
much about what’s really going
on. When you have an untamed
mouth.
The more you speak in a negative
manner the more negative
will happen to you. Speaking
positively won’t always mean
that only positive comes your
way but it does mean that you
will attract more positive to you.
You truly get in life what you focus
on.
How do you handle brokenness?
This is a tough one and
for different people it’s going to
be different. You don’t want to go
through your life living this way.
