heart.
Further, God “is opposed to the
proud and haughty, but [continually]
gives [the gift of] grace to
the humble [who turn away from
self-righteousness] (James 4:6,
referencing Proverbs 3:34). We
in Westernized nations have had
one form of religion or another for
hundreds or thousands of years,
and in many cases, the religion
has blinded us to the true workings
of the Holy Spirit. Many of
the inhabitants of Western nations
have made their religion
into self-righteousness, which is,
in truth, sinful humanity trying to
justify itself before a holy God.
Now, the Holy Spirit will manifest
its power in some cases, when
the worshippers are truly seeking
God, and cause them to be
“slain in the spirit.” There are
also many believers in the world
with a simpler child-like faith, and
through whom, many miracles
are done. However, it seems to
me that like Saul, only those who
are zealous about their religion,
to the point of persecuting the
body of Christ, are most likely
to see Jesus’ Shekinah Glory
on the Earth, and be radically
changed. I have heard many
different stories about staunch
Muslims, who hated Christianity,
see “a Man in White” in a dream,
who reveals His glory to them,
and opens their eyes to the truth
of the Gospel. (6)
Will we ever see the Shekinah
Glory of God? For most of us,
that will probably only happen
when we see the Father and the
Son face to face (1 Corinthians
13:12). In the meantime, however,
God makes His truth known
to us by His helper, the Holy
Spirit. We will certainly feel the
power of the Holy Spirit guiding
us and changing us into the likeness
of Jesus himself. “And we
all, with unveiled face, continually
seeing as in a mirror the glory
of the Lord, are progressively
being transformed into His image
from [one degree of] glory to
[even more] glory, which comes
from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit
(2 Corinthians 3:18). So, if you
know Jesus as your Lord and
Savior, and you feel that God’s
Spirit is revealing something to
you, listen. The Shekinah glory
of God will manifest itself in you,
but will be seen as your acts of
kindness, gentleness, love and
service.
