South Woodham Focus 7 South Woodham Focus today. Learn how to grow beautiful Fuchsias including taking cuttings and overall general care of your plants throughout the year. For the first time this year BHN are sponsoring the 50th Annual Fuchsia Show, a date to definitely put in your diaries for July and the plan is that this will be a regular event held at BHN every year. The Club meets the first Thursday of each month at Basildon United Reform Church Hal, Honeypot Lane, Basildon SS14 2JZ The Fuchsia Fellowship was formed in 1968 following a meeting between two men who both had an interest in growing and showing Fuchsias, so they decided to create a new society. The club is fortunate to have one of these men, Ray Saunders, as a member and also their current President. The first meeting was held at the Halfway House Tea Room and 70 people attended that meeting. From those 70 people a committee was formed and the South East Essex Fuchsia Fellowship was born. Over the past years the Fellowship have used several locations for both meetings and annual shows. Shows were held at Markhams Chase Leisure Centre and recently at the James Hornby School, Basildon. The Fellowship is now starting a new venture by moving the annual show to Buckhatch Nursery and Garden Centre who are supporting and helping us in this new episode of the Fellowship’s history. Apart for one other society the Fellowship is one of the longest established societies and is celebrating its 50th year in existence. Over the past years the Fellowship has produced many fine growers. All existing members carry on the ideals and standards that has been carried on from the past growers and members, who formed and created the basis of how the Fellowship is If all that makes you feel thirsty and hungry, our cafe supplies delicious food and drinks, including gluten free cakes! Come and have a look around our garden centre, a relaxing way to shop for all your gardening needs. Buckhatch Nursery and Garden Centre is open Monday- Saturday: 9am-5pm, Sundays (browsing at 9:30am) 10am-4pm.
