Exklusive Designer–Dirndl aus afrikanischen Stoffen: Eine Hommage an den Stolz
der Frau, eine gelungene Verbindung der Kulturen und eine Vision für die Zukunft.
Unique Dirndls made from artful African cloth: an homage to female pride,
an extraordinary combination of cultures, and a vision for the future.
Aufgewachsen sind sie in Kamerun, inzwischen leben sie in
München: Die Schwestern Marie Darouiche und Rahmée
Wetterich schöpfen ihre Designs aus den einzigartigen Farben
Afrikas. „Die Natur“, sagt Rahmée, „macht uns vor, wie Farben
kombiniert werden können. Wenn einmal der Rahmen geschaffen
ist, kann darin alles zum Blühen gebracht werden“. Nur
logisch, dass dabei die Idee aufkam, kunstvolle, farbenprächtige
afrikanische Stoffe mit bayerischen Schnitten zu kombinieren.
Der Rahmen für die Dirndl ist ein traditioneller bayerischer
Dirndlschnitt aus den fünfziger Jahren. „Mit den afrikanischen
Stoffen“, sagt Marie, „werden die Dirndl zu einer Hommage
an den Stolz der Frau, zu einem stoffgewordenen Lebensgefühl,
das mit Jacken und Accessoires der eigenen Phantasie
keine Grenzen setzt. Die Dirndl sind eine Einladung zu leben.“
Hinter dem Konzept der „Dirndl à l’ Africaine“ steht Rahmées
Vision des „Colourmix“ - der kreative, spannende Austausch
der Weltkulturen: „Er wird in Zukunft eine große Rolle spielen“,
sagt sie, „die Menschen werden sich kennen lernen, Neues
kreieren und ihre Traditionen in neuem Licht sehen.“
Born and raised in Cameroon, sisters Marie Darouiche and
Rahmée Wetterich have made Munich their home, but their
designs draw from Africa’s unique and inimitable colours.
“Nature“, Rahmée says, “shows us how colours can be combined.
Once you’ve got the framing, anything can be brought
to bloom.“ The idea of combining colourful and elaborate
African cloth with a Bavarian cut would follow soon. The
framing for the Dirndls is a traditional Bavarian Dirndl cut from
the 1950ies. “With the African cloth“, Marie adds, “the original
Bavarian Dirndl becomes an homage to female pride, an
attitude towards life turned into fabric. And there are no limits
to your fantasy and creativity should you choose to combine
them with whatever jackets or accessories. The Dirndls are
an invitation to live.“ Behind all this is Rahmées idea of the
“colourmix“ – the world’s various cultures’ inventive and exciting
exchange: “It will be of great importance in the days to
come“, Rahmée says, “people will get to know each other, they
will innovate, and they will see their own traditions in a different
light.“
