Looking Back, Looking Forward
By: Evan Davis / Entertainment Editor
wanted to share with you my year in review,
I but there are too many people, places and
things and less than 500 words to cover 2018. So,
I’ve decided to tell you about the two dozen or so
shows that I produced for The Vegas Voice.
I’ll start with the different venues - Sun City MacDonald Ranch,
Sun City Aliante, Starbright Theatre in Sun City Summerlin, Solera at
Anthem, the Silverton and The Adelson Campus.
We had shows titled “An Evening of Classic Broadway”, “The Music
of Cole Porter”, “The Music of Robert Goulet: Broadway & Back”,
“Where I Want to Be”, “Divine Divas of Song”, “A Sizzzlin’ Summer
Afternoon Affair”, Lullaby of Broadway”, “Merry Mayhem” and of
course our Christmas Show at the end or 2017 that helped us bring in
the new year with a bang.
We’ve had hosts and guests that would make your head spin. People
like Frankie Scinta, Pia Zadora, Jonathan Karrant, Genevieve
Dew, Chadwick Johnson, Anne Martinez, Daniel Emmett,
Irina Nero, Sonny Charles, Rosanna Telford, Chase Brown,
Rita Lim, Randall Keith, Amanda King, Bruce Ewing, Gret
Menzes, Tom Mazzaro, Lou De Meis, Ron & Lisa Smith.
Shall I continue? The amazing Philip Fortenberry, Ashley
Bob Anderson
Frankie Scinta
Fuller, Travis Cloer, Naomi Mauro, Zowie Bowie (Chris
Philips) Rhonda Carlson, Carnell Johnson, Brenda
Mandabach. There’s also been Bill Fayne, Jimmy Hopper, Bob
Anderson, Clint Holmes, Kelly Clinton, Elisa Fiorillo, Patty
Asher and many, many more.
My apologies for not including everyone but the list would go on and
on and on. But I’m certainly not going to leave out the back bone of
the shows, THE BAND.
Our amazing musical director and magician on the saxophone,
Gary Anderson. He’s always put together some of the top names for
The Vegas Voice Band. I won’t even start to mention all the musicians
who have graced our venues because I will surely leave some out.
And there’s still time to be a part of our Holiday Shows in December.
One at Sun City MacDonald Ranch on December 15 th and another on
December 4 th in the Starbright Theatre in Summerlin.
Next year we’re adding shows at the Italian American Club and other
venues to be announced in the near future. We will also be showcasing
talent that you may not be familiar with or types of music you wouldn’t
expect The Vegas Voice to present, but trust me when I say, “You Will
Not Be Disappointed.”
Have a Wonderful Holiday Season. Stay Healthy & Peace to All!
