Achema in the age
of digitalisation
Only a few more days to go now: the global process industry is
looking forward to Frankfurt, where Achema 2018 will open its
doors on June 11 with products, technologies and comprehensive
know-how for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Around
3800 exhibitors and 167,000 participants from over 100 countries
will once again turn the Hessian metropolis into the hub of the
process world for five days.
In the same way as at the Hannover Messe, all exhibition groups at
Achema will be characterised by the major trend towards digitalisation.
Efficiency gains as a result of digitalisation and networking
options can be further enhanced by modular plant designs. The
focal topics “Flexible Production” and “Chemical and Pharma
Logistics” are particularly benefiting from this trend because modular
plants and integrated supply chains are inconceivable without
data integration. Smart modularisation concepts by Thyssenkrupp
which reconcile the manufacture of bespoke, customised plants with
standardisation and high efficiency are described on page 23.
Digitalisation, modularity, IT & data security and smart maintenance
– hot topics at the upcoming mega event in Frankfurt – are also the
subject of several articles in this special trade fair issue. We introduce
you to products and technologies inspired by recent advances
in these areas which will be on show in June underneath the
exhibition tower. The range of innovations described is huge!
The entire cpp team will also be present at Achema. You can find us
