EDITOR’S NOTE
Ever since Tiger Woods made
a comeback and won his fifth
Masters tournament and his
first major since 2008, golf has
never been this exciting. Woods, who had
four back surgeries, claimed his 15th major
win which placed him just three behind
legendary Jack Nicklaus. Now, what is all
the excitement about?
Apart from the unbelievable precisions of
putts and swings, one of the most exciting
aspects of the game is the purse prize. The
Players Championship has the biggest purse
in golf, with the PGA Tour announcing
an increase to USD12.5 million, with the
winner getting a record of USD2.25 million.
Before then, the US Open had the biggest
purse in golf, when in 2017 the United
States Golf Association increased the purse
to USD12 million, with the winner getting a
record of USD2.16 million.
The PGA Championship purse is now
USD11 million, as well. However, the PGA
of America and the PGA Tour have tied the
purses of the PGA Championship and The
Players together in recent years.
The British Open purse was USD10.5
million in 2018. Following the golf live
telecast in Asia means getting up in the
middle of the morning before sunrise due to
time difference. An occasional night without
sleep may make you feel tired and irritable
the next day but continuous lack of sleep can
affect your overall health.
Sleep deprivation prevents your immune
system from building up its defences. If
you continue to lack sleep, your body may
feel weak, lethargic and increase your risk
of chronic illnesses like diabetes and heart
disease. It is reported that a good night’s
rest should take about a minimum of 8 hours
for adults (by Sleep Health journal). That’s
the same reason why Slumberland is so
committed to making beds that can give you
a restful and comfortable sleep that corrects
your posture, improve health and breathing
and can hold the weight of a heavier person.
Mr. Marco Righi, President of the
Slumberland division of Hilding Anders
Group shares with us some vital tips in
the “Science of Sleep” that Slumberland
is serious about caring for the welfare of
consumers. Founded in England in 1919
by Mr John Seccombe, Slumberland
has achieved its position as a premier
international bed manufacturer in more
than 20 countries worldwide. Slumberland
truly deserves to be in the “Celebration of
Success” this issue as they celebrate their
100th year Anniversary.
“The Celebration of Success” issue also
honours a renowned interior designer who
had authored nine design books to date,
designed the homes of David and Victoria
Beckham and Martin Shaw, presented her
own show on Channel 5, UK, referred to as
the ‘Queen of Taupe’, due to her signature
neutral palette and a guest judge on the final
episode of BBC Two’s The Great Interior
Design Challenge.
She is none other than Kelly Hoppen, whose
pristine credentials includes designing for
homes, yachts and private jets, as well as
hotels, restaurants, offices and aircraft.
Some of her most recent projects include
a collaboration with Disney to celebrate
Mickey Mouse’s 90th Anniversary, the
Celebrity Edge cruise ship, an ultraresidential
tower block One Park Taipei in
Taiwan and LUX Grand Gaube Hotel in
Mauritius.
In 2012, Vogue listed her in the 100
Inspirational Women, in 2014 Daily
Telegraph ranked her as the most influential
female interior designer in Britain, in 2017,
Evening Standard listed her as London’s
most influential people and in 2018, she was
named the Asia Most Influential Designer
Award by Designer Concept magazine.
In March 2009, Hoppen was appointed a
Member of the Order of the British Empire
(MBE) for her outstanding contributions to
interior design, a title which she still uses
today. What a lot of people doesn’t know is
that she is the stepmother to actress Sienna
Miller and fashion designer Savannah Miller,
the designer for Alexander McQueen. Please
The Celebration of Success would not be
complete without the grand entrance of the
SUV in the world. Apart from all its posh
offerings and state-of-the-art drive tech,
some of the cool gadgets that the Cullinan’s
offers are its safety feature – Night Vision
and Vision Assist, daytime and night-time
warning, cross-traffic alert, lane departure
