2019 Mississippi Nurses’ Association Annual Convention Director, Council on Nursing Practice ................................Debra Rhinewalt, BSN, CHPN The Director of the Council on Nursing Practice, elected at each even-year convention, serves for a two-year term. The Director shall be concerned with advancing the practice of nursing which relate to the scope of standards of nursing practice; the ethical and legal aspects of nursing practice; the practice of individual nurses; and the trends for improvement of health care with nursing practice implications. Director, Council on Nursing Research ...............................Ashley Krebs, PhD, RN, CHSE The Director of the Council on Nursing Research, elected at each even-year convention, serves for a two-year term. This Council is concerned with advancing the profession of nursing through MNA sponsored activities which relate to the improvement of health care; social, scientific, and educational changes in health needs; protection of human subjects through established standards, and methods in research; research promotions; and the development of theory and dissemination of findings. Director, Council on Organizational Affairs .....................Deloris Slade, DNP, RN, FNP-BC The Director of the Council on Organizational Affairs, elected at each odd-year convention, serves for a two-year term. The Council on Organizational Affairs is responsible for assisting with activities that relate to the growth and maintenance of the organization including the Annual Convention. The Council is composed of the committees on Bylaws, Convention Planning, and Awards. 38
2019 Mississippi Nurses’ Association Annual Convention Candidates for MNA Board of Directors The House of Delegates for the 108th Mississippi Nurses’ Association Convention will elect two Board officers, two Council Directors, and three members of the Committee on Nominations during the one-day session, Wednesday, October 23, 2019. The delegates will elect the President, Treasurer, and Directors for the Councils on Nursing Education, and Organizational Affairs. Seven candidates have declared for the MNA Board of Directors. Nominations may also be made from the floor.
