2019 Mississippi Nurses’ Association Annual Convention
throughout the state as we continue to grow. I am willing to give my
full support for the Committee on Bylaws, Policies, and Resolutions,
the Committee on Convention Planning and the Committee on Awards
and Recognitions. Over the past seven years, I have worked closely
with previous Directors of Organizational Affairs and feel I have an
understanding of the responsibilities associated with this Board
position. My goal is to help grow and maintain MNA’s membership
by attracting the number of professional nurses and vendors to
Convention and other MNA events throughout the year.
If elected, I will serve MNA in a positive professional manner, and I will
render my best services to accomplish the tasks assigned to me. Thank
you for your support and involvement in MNA, for you are truly the
voice of MNA, and together we can make a difference. I hope you will
consider giving me the privilege to serve as Director of the Council
on Organizational Affairs of MNA. If you have any questions before the
election, please feel free to contact me.
Statement of Intent:
As a member of MNA for over 15 years, I have seen the organization
grow exponentially. MNA is an organization with great power in its
membership. It is a pillar of the nursing community as it supports
initiatives that not only advance the profession of nursing, but protects
the public through practice, education, and policy. As the Director of
the Council on Organizational Affairs, I will be committed to leading a
team of diverse individuals as we manage the bylaws and plan events
that bring awareness to the agenda of the organization and provide
a vast array of educational offerings to its constituents. It is my belief
that service should be fun. It should be inspiring and invigorating, and
should drive positive change. In my previous roles on the MNA Board
of Directors, I would like to believe that I have been a motivating force,
making contributions to the business decisions and activity of the
organization in a thoughtful and deliberate manner. I am approachable
